James 1:26 & 27

TMy dad gave a message at camp and these two verses were some that he went over and I have been thinking of them a lot. 

I do not want my service for Christ to be futile. I want to be an example of Gods love for us and I want to be unspotted from the world. I also don't want people who's views that are different then mine to see me as self righteous. I know I can only do this with Christ's help. My desire is to leave things that are ungodly behind and to teach my children the same. I want to serve others first, weather it be my family, my Christian family, a neighbor, teacher at school, or someone else god puts in my path. I also want to teach my children that this life is not about self but other and when we serve others we r serving Christ.
